The heart behind the practice
Where the climb began
I grew up in a family where sports, movement, and fitness were a natural part of life. As a collegiate soccer player, health and exercise once felt effortless. But over time, graduate school, multiple jobs, unhealthy relationships, and loving someone struggling with addiction led me to neglect my needs while trying to care for everyone else.
Eventually, the chronic stress, grief, trauma, and emotional exhaustion caught up with me. My mental and physical health declined, and I was later diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and CPTSD while also struggling with severe anxiety and depression.
One day, after experiencing pregnancy loss and walking out of a doctor's appointment, the reality of how deeply my health had been impacted hit me. I knew something needed to change —and fast!
That moment became a turning point. I began prioritizing my own wellbeing through better sleep, nutrition, movement, boundaries, nervous system support, and compassionate self-care. Slowly, I started to feel strong, grounded, healthy, and hopeful again.
Throughout that healing journey, I found peace in the mountains. Nature became a place of comfort, reflection, and healing — inspiring the name Peak Behavioral Wellness. It represents my belief that healing is possible, one step at a time.
I created this space for women who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, unseen, and disconnected from themselves — because they deserve support, healing, and the same care they so freely give to others.
